Subject: Wuztek setup
He has a Mega4ST. He bought one of the first Wuztek setups, which had a little
pushbutton switch built into the cable. It looked handmade, but worked like
a champ. They Wuztek asked him to send it back (easy for him to do, since
he also has a STacy!) and when it was returned, it had a small pressure pad
switch that is designed to stick to the front of the monitor. This is a little
weird, because the monitor defaults to color when powered up, unless one is
depressing the MONO part of the switch (so what is the COLOR part for?). Any
way, his problems started when he got the thing back (he now wishes he had just
left it alone). The color display is superb, the mono display is good but
grainy (I do not think you can get around this). In case you did not know,
there is a multisync offering from Talon Tech called the Acer (they also sell
a switchbox with a multisync board in it called the Omniswitch, which also has
a drive switcher and other stuff). I have heard both good and bad stuff about
this setup too (monitor requires readjustment between resolutions). Anyway,
I have a friend that is buying one, so send me mail in about 2 weeks if you
want to hear about it (I will forget :-) ).
